Not everything always went to plan with my children's books and I've already featured the change in story from my very early concept to my finalised story as well as the layout change I decided to make from A5 to 140mm x 140mm but I have also made changes to the characters along the way.
One big change was the character on my second page. Originally, this character was intended to be a sloth named Sid of which would be sleeping. For obvious reasons this was changed and I decided to move onto a different animal entirely. My mind thought of a snake so I decided to start planning out the drawing for a snake i'd draw that would be sleeping. Again though, I changed this and moved onto different animal as I felt that a snake sleeping wouldn't look any any different compared to one that was awake.
I finalised my idea of a Salamander which would fill the spot eventually. This was my favourite idea and choice out of all three because the salamander was an in between idea of a snake and lizard which I already had on another page. The salamander also worked because the double page spread was intended to be focused on one animal being happy and playful whilst another being sleepy and for the better lack of words, lazy.
The only other changes I made towards my children's book was the acknowledgements pages, In my original story I left a acknowledgments page in order to pay homage to the people who helped me create this book. I put this in because it would make sense on the first page on the inside of the book opposite to the front cover. Another reason I also put this in was because it felt needed. I am grateful for the help I received and those who made it possible and so I would like to share that with anyone who reads it.
